The Richard Rodgers Theatre is just starting to kick into gear
after the previous day off, but there’s already activity in room number seven.

There’s a new resident in In the Heights, the Tony-winning musical about three days in the life of a close community in Washington Heights. Marcy Harriell joined the cast as Vanessa, the salon worker with a dream of getting out of the barrio. When she stepped into the role (recently vacated by Karen Olivo, who is set to star in the upcoming West Side Story), Harriell became the first principal replacement in the chummy cast. With her delightful disposition, easy laugh and knockout talent, Harriell seems destined to fit right in at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Harriell welcomed Broadway.com into her dressing room on November 18 to document the hour or so before the curtain went up. We were expecting pre-show jitters, but instead Harriell kept it light and sweet. Take a look!
