This November, the most beloved swamp-dwelling ogre of all time will make his Broadway debut in Shrek The Musical

Casting is complete and group tickets of 20+ are on sale for performances through May 2009!

DreamWorks Theatricals is bringing the famous fairytale to the stage with preview performances starting November 11 with a December 14 opening. Broadway star Brian d'Arcy James is stepping into the ogre-sized role to lead the starry cast at the Broadway Theatre. Joining him will be Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Chester Gregory II as Donkey, John Tartaglia as Pinocchio, Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad and Kecia Lewis-Evans as The Dragon.

Tickets are currently on sale for all groups of 20 or more, who receive a group rate for Tuesday - Thursday performances of $100.50 for Orchestra and Front Mezz accompanied by four lower group prices in the Rear Mezzanine sections for $91.50, $78, $60, and $41.50. Young audiences on a budget can experience the swamp-to-stage story for only $36.50 with special student mezzanine pricing for Tuesday and Wednesday performances! About the Show: This all-new production is based on Shrek's adventures in the classic William Steig book and Oscar-winning film. Joining Shrek on his journey from the swamp to the stage will be his wisecracking sidekick Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad and a chorus of everybody's favorite fairytale creatures. With more layers than ever and a completely original new score, Shrek The Musical proves that there's more to the story than meets the ears.
