Best Backstage Visitor: "It's a tie: Brooke Shields and Julia Roberts, because they were both really excited and lovely—and very, very beautiful as well. When [co-star] Richard Griffiths won the [2006] Tony Award, he got a kiss from Julia Roberts [at the awards ceremony] and would not stop going on about it. I think I may have got a kiss [during the visit]."

Best Meal: "There's a great steak you can get at Café Luxembourg on the Upper West Side. It's steak with, I think, Roquefort melted on top."
Best TV Show: "Stephen Colbert, The Colbert Report, definitely. That's been one of the absolute things I've watched every single night after the show."
Best Movie: "That's a tough one. I really liked Burn After Reading. I think it's going to be eclipsed when I see Milk. My dad saw it the other day and said it was amazing, and we have exactly the same taste. So can that be my prospective best movie of 2008?"

Best Broadway Show: "Besides Equus? It would have to be Gypsy. I'm very loyal to our neighbors, but also it's a fantastic show."
Best CD: "It's a weird one, a really, really sweet and lovely album to listen to. It's by a band called The Miserable Rich—I think it's called 12 Ways to Count. They're a little Scottish folk band. And the Hold Steady's album this year, I'm a big fan of theirs."

| |
Best Fan Letter: "The greatest gift is when they don't want anything; they just send a letter and say, 'We love the show.' The sweetest letter this year was from a woman who said she was coming to her first Broadway show and [she asked], 'What should I wear?' I thought it was the sweetest thing that it was so special, she was thinking about what to wear."

Best Silly Interview Question: "It wasn't asked to me, but [press rep] Sam Rudy got asked by a newspaper that shall remain nameless, 'What do the horses eat and what happens if the horses make a mess on stage?' They thought we were using real horses. That's got to be number one."
Best Moment of 2008: "Being here when Obama got [voted] in. I thought, 'Wow, I feel so privileged to be in the country at this moment.' Then I turned [the TV] over to FOX News and watched them all cry."

Best Reason to Be on Broadway: "It's a really tough year for Broadway shows. Whatever we as a company can do to help and get people into the theater is important."
| |
New Year's Resolution: "To work harder than I ever have before on the next Harry Potter film."
| |
Best Stage Door Remark: "'You are so much more talented than I expected!' That has to be it for me."
