Jan Maxwell, Kelli Barrett & Rosemarry Harris in The Royal Family

The classic comedy will now play through December 13.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a second extension of its Broadway revival of George S. Kaufman’s and Edna Ferber’s The Royal Family. The classic comedy, directed by Doug Hughes, will now run through December 13 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The Royal Family centers on the Cavendishes, a famous family of stage stars, as they go about the drama of the day: choosing scripts, dashing off to performances, stealing kisses from handsome beaus. But what’s this business about the youngest diva wanting to quit the stage for domestic bliss? Never, darling!

The cast of The Royal Family includes Rosemary Harris, Jan Maxwell, Ana Gasteyer, Tony Roberts, John Glover, Reg Rogers, Kelli Barrett and Larry Pine. Rounding out the cast are Freddy Arsenault, Caroline Stefanie Clay, Rufus Collins, David Greenspan, Anthony Newfield, Henny Russell, Cat Walleck and John Wernke.
