The pop star will play a 10-week engagement in the Tony-winning revival.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz will make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, a production spokesperson confirmed to The pop star, who played the role in the West End production in 2006, will begin performances at Broadway’s Ambassador Theatre on November 30. She will play a 10-week engagement through February 7, 2010.

Simpson-Wentz followed in her sister Jessica Simpson's footsteps by becoming a recording artist. Her first three albums (Autobiography, I Am Me and Bittersweet World) have sold over nine million copies worldwide. She had her own MTV series The Ashlee Simpson Show and made frequent guest appearances in the television series Malcolm in the Middle, as well as playing a role on 7th Heaven. Her most recent acting credit was on TV’s Melrose Place, from which she reportedly was fired. Simpson-Wentz participated in the special one-night only 10th anniversary performance of Chicago in 2006 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Chicago celebrated its 13th anniversary on Broadway on November 14.
