Kristen Johnston knows how to make an impression on screens both big (Bride Wars, Music and Lyrics) and small (3rd Rock from the Sun), and luckily, this New York-based actress also loves the stage. Right now she’s sinking her teeth into the juicy lead role of a diva actress in the satirical backstage farce So Help Me God!, a production of the Mint Theater Company at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This newly re-discovered 1929 comedy by Maurine Dallas Watkins (who wrote the play that formed the basis for the musical Chicago) co-stars Anna Chlumsky (My Girl as Johnston’s ambitious understudy.
