Michael Urie's been a familiar face on the small screen ever since hit series Ugly Betty first took the airwaves. The actor will soon become a regular around our neck of the woods with the off-Broadway run of The Temperamentals, the original play written by Jon Marans. The show, about the secret romance of communist Harry Hay and Viennese refugee turned fashion designer Rudi Gernreich during the time just before the first gay rights movement in the late 1960s, features Urie as Gernreich and Thomas Jay Ryan as Hay, costarring ensemble players Arnie Burton, Matthew Schneck and Sam Breslin Wright. The whole cast gathered at Pearl Studios on February 4, meeting the press and officially introducing their show, which starts February 18 at New World Stages.
