When screen and stage regular Ethan Hawke first stumbled upon Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind , the epic (and darkly funny) play about what happens to two families when a husband makes a brutal attack on his wife, he was dying to do the show. He was also years away from being able to play any of the roles himself. Flash forward to 2010: Hawke is now helming The New Group's current off-Broadway revival of the drama, which opens February 18, and has assembled a stellar cast featuring Keith Carradine, Laurie Metcalf, Marin Ireland, Josh Hamilton, Alessandro Nivola, Maggie Siff, Frank Whaley and original cast member Karen Young. We talked to the cast and director about their tough-as-nails show and why this is one off-Broadway production you just can't miss. Watch the video to get caught up with A Lie of the Mind.
