The taut and poetic multigenerational family drama When the Rain Stops Falling opened on March 8 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre with a distinguished ensemble cast led Mary Beth Hurt and Tony winner Victoria Clark. Andrew Bovell’s play, directed by David Cromer (Our Town), jumps between England and Australia and spans a century and four generations. It’s serious stuff, but the company was all smiles on opening night when they walked across Broadway to party at Lincoln Center Theater’s preferred eatery O’Neals.
