Two terrific actresses are about to butt heads on Broadway. We’re talking about Tony Award winner Linda Lavin and Sarah Paulson, who will co-star in Manhattan Theatre Club’s new production of Collected Stories, one of Donald Margulies’ most popular plays. Lavin plays a celebrated fiction writer who mentors a grad student played by Paulson; over the course of six years, the relationship gets turned on its head in surprising and thought-provoking ways. The stars, their playwright and director Lynne Meadow met the press on March 12 at MTC’s rehearsal studios, where they’re prepping for a first preview on April 6 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. And yes, everybody looked really Collected.
