With the 2009-2010 theater season over and done, the New York theater scene has been busy honoring all the fine work from the last year…and if there’s anybody who’s seen everything it’s the critics! On May 10 the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards were presented at the Algonquin Hotel. As
previously announced the group, comprised of critics from 22 various newspapers, magazines and websites throughout New York, honored Horton Foote’s
The Orphans’ Home Cycle as Best Play. Special awards were also presented to
Fences star Viola Davis and Lincoln Center Festival for Sustained Achievement, while
Circle Mirror Transformation playwright Annie Baker was noted as an Emerging Artist. Take a look at the event here!
