New Drama Gabriel Washes Ashore at Atlantic Theater Company

We love any drama where a handsome young man with amnesia washes ashore naked on a beach—but we’ve got to warn you: Gabriel isn’t just another romance about a sexy stranger. Rather, the new Moira Buffini play is an outright thriller, and it’s currently running at Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater, where it opened on May 13. Starring Lisa Emery, Zach Grenier, Lee Aaron Rosen, Samantha Soule, Patricia Conolly and Libby Woodbridge, the show follows what happens when the mysterious title star arrives on a decimated British Island during the Nazi’s occupation in World War II. A hit when it made its debut in the UK in 1997, the limited engagement plays through June 6, giving American audiences a chance to take in this surprising new piece.
