Red's Eddie Redmayne Finally Gets His Big Award Show Moment

When Eddie Redmayne received Britain's Olivier Award for his performance in Red earlier this year, he was unable to attend the London ceremony because he was busy with the play's current Broadway run. "I had a Sunday matinee, and our electrician made a sign from the side of the stage that said, 'You won.' I haven't really been to an award ceremony, so this is an amazing one to start with!" When Redmayne's name was called, he said his "sweat glands just went woooomf!"—and his mind went blank. "It's the fastest moment of my life, and now I have no memory of it," he laughed. Redmayne will continue the last few weeks of Red's run "living the full stereotypical cliche New York artist life. I've bought a guitar and sit on my balcony." He did, however, squash rumors that he'll join the cast of Steven Speilberg's upcoming War Horse film. "I have people sending me e-mails saying, 'Congratulations,'" he says of the project, but insists as of now he's not attached.
