We crave new shows in the summertime, and Primary Stages is obliging our hunger with the New York premiere of Jonathan Tolins’ Secrets of the Trade, which begins performances at 59E59 Theaters on July 27. This juicy-sounding comedy stars Tony Award winner John Glover as a celebrated playwright/director and Noah Robbins (breakout star of last season’s Brighton Beach Memoirs) as an ambitious kid from Long Island who dreams of a career on Broadway. The cast—which also includes stage vets Mark Nelson and Amy Aquino as Robbins’ parents and Bill Brochtrup as Glover’s assistant—gathered for their first day of rehearsal on June 30 at Primary Stages’ rehearsal studios. Before getting to work, they posed for a few photos and chatted about the show. We can’t wait!
