We’ll have to find something else to talk about in our weekly grosses roundup now that the Broadway revival of Fences has closed. To paraphrase director Kenny Leon, August Wilson was surely smiling down on a production that set new records every week, including its final one, topping the list for capacity and earning an eye-popping $1,175,626. (We've always liked the Cort Theatre; now producers do, too.) In other news, the overall box office numbers climbed in the week after July 4, as visitors streamed in to NYC, and Broadway said farewell to Sherie Rene Scott’s autobiographical Everyday Rapture.
