Hey, High School Musical fans: Don’t you wish you’d been at the Shubert Theatre on August 17? The hit movie series’ on- and off-screen sweeties, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, had a rocking good time at the Tony-winning musical Memphis. Vanessa is coming off a successful stage stint as Mimi in Rent at the Hollywood Bowl and Zac’s the star of the big-screen weepie Charlie St. Cloud, so these two have good reason to celebrate, and we’re glad they did it on Broadway. Eagle-eyed theatergoers might note that this is Zac’s second visit to Memphis, and he brought another pal, Hairspray director Adam Shankman. Hmm…is a Memphis movie in their future?
