Peter Scolari in bed with an Emmy? That’s the opening image in Kenny Solms’ autobiographical comedy It Must Be Him. This story of the life and loves of an aging Hollywood comedy writer is getting a first-class production at the tiny Peter Jay Sharp Theatre on Theatre Row. Bosom Buddies and Newhart star Scolari is joined by Gilmore Girls vet Liz Torres and theater pros such as John Treacy Egan, Alice Playten, Stephanie D’Abruzzo and Edward Staudenmayer.
