When a movie star puts her stamp of approval on a small-scale off-Broadway musical, people take notice. Of course, it helps when the movie star—in this case, four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore—wrote the book that inspired the show, Freckleface Strawberry. Moore and her family led a parade of famous moms and dads to New World Stages on October 1, where the family-friendly tuner opened with a benefit performance for Save the Children. Her heartwarming autobiographical story of a little girl who hates her freckles stars the delightful Hayley Podschun, who partied with the company and guests after the show at Angus McIndoe.
