Gatz gets a night out! This six-hour theatrical event, currently being presented four times a week at the Public Theater, is not only a play but a novel come to life, as every word of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby is read aloud. (One morning in a dingy office, a low-rent employee finds a copy of Gatsby in the clutter of his des, starts reading and doesn’t stop.) The latest brainchild of theater group Elevator Repair Service celebrated its opening three days early, on October 3, and Broadway.com was there to celebrate its epic success with the cast and Public friends and fans.
