Broadway theatergoers are heading back to 17th century France in the comedy romp La Bete, starring Mark Rylance as a rude and raffish street clown, David Hyde Pierce as a proper (and slightly pompous) playwright and Joanna Lumley as the princess who brings them together. David Hirson’s comedy, written in Moliere-style verse, opens on October 14 at the Music Box Theatre in a production helmed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus. For now, feast your eyes on the stars, in costume and ready for laughs, in Joan Marcus’ production photos.
