These days, Cherry Jones is no saint, though the Mrs. Warren’s Profession star did play a nun in John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt. But the two-time Tony winner is far from angelic in her latest role, the title character in George Bernard Shaw’s aforementioned comedy. She stars as Kitty Warren, a wildly successful businesswoman whose already fraught relationship with her adult daughter is threatened when the nature of her profession—namely, the oldest one—is revealed.
