Another classic is back on the Broadway boards: The Merchant of Venice, which transferred after a successful run at Shakespeare in the Park earlier this year, is prepping to open at the Broadhurst Theatre. Many cast members from the Park production are reprising their roles, including Al Pacino as moneylender Shylock, Lily Rabe as Portia, Byron Jennings as Antonio and Jesse L. Martin as Gratiano; new additions like David Harbour as Bassanio and Christopher Fitzgerald as Launcelot Gobbo add fresh blood to this thorny Shakespeare comedy. We’ve got an early look at Merchant in its new life, so click through for a peek at Joan Marcus' production photos.
