Complete casting has been announced for the forthcoming Broadway production of Catch Me If You Can, including the starry foursome of Norbert Leo Butz as Carl Hanratty, Aaron Tveit as Frank Abagnale Jr., Tom Wopat as Frank Abagnale Sr. and Kerry Butler as Brenda Strong. The new musical will begin previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on March 7, 2011, and open on April 10, directed by Jack O’Brien.

In addition to the four stars, all of whom created their roles in the show's 2009 premiere production in Seattle, the cast will feature Rachel De Benedet as Paula Abagnale, Linda Hart as Carol Strong, Nick Wyman as Roger Strong, plus Joe Cassidy, Timothy McCuen Piggee, Brandon Wardell, Jennifer Frankel, Lisa Gajda, Bob Gaynor, Kearran Giovanni, Nick Kenkel, Grasan Kingsberry, Aleks Pevec, Kristin Piro, Rachelle Rak, Joe Aaron Reid, Angie Schworer, Sabrina Sloan, Sarrah Strimel and Katie Webber.

Catch Me If You Can includes a score by the Hairspray team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and a book by Terrence McNally, based on the hit 2002 movie of the same name. The show will feature choreography by Jerry Mitchell.

Centering on the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr., a world class con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, lawyer and jet pilot, Catch Me If You Can charts the cat-and-mouse chase between Frank and straight-arrow FBI agent Carl Hanratty, set to a swinging-sixties score that keeps the adventure in constant motion.

Tveit (who will re-create the role played by Leonardo DiCaprio) co-starred in the Broadway production of Next to Normal and has appeared on Broadway Hairspray and Wicked and in TV’s Gossip Girl.

Wopat (in a role played by Christopher Walken in the film), has appeared on Broadway in Chicago and a Tony-nominated performances in A Catered Affair, plus Annie Get Your Gun, City of Angels, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street and Glengarry Glen Ross.

Butler (who plays a girl who gets wrapped up in Abagnale’s web of lies) most recently appeared on Broadway in Rock of Ages. A 2008 Tony Award nominee for Xanadu, she has been seen on Broadway in Les Miserables, Blood Brothers, Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray and Little Shop of Horrors.

The Broadway production of Catch Me If You Can will have scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Steve Kennedy. Margo Lion and Hal Luftig are the show’s lead producers.
