Tony nominee Adam Pascal, Wicked veteran and Broadway.com Audience Award winner Kerry Ellis and Queen's Brian May will perform at Anthems: The Concert on May 1, 2011 at London's Royal Albert Hall. The concert will benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Research. The singers will be accompanied by City of London Philharmonic, the Anthems Ensemble and the West End Chorus and Dancers.
The concert will feature songs from Ellis and May's recent album of the same name, which includes Wicked tunes "Defying Gravity" and "I'm Not That Girl." Other songs featured on the album include "Diamonds Are Forever," "Anthem" from the musical Chess and Queen's "I Loved a Butterfly."
Pascal received a Tony nomination for his performance as Roger in Rent. He reprised the role in the 2005 film adaptation and recently toured with the show. His other Broadway credits include Aida and Cabaret. Ellis appeared as Elphaba in Wicked on both Broadway and the West End. She also starred in the West End's We Will Rock You, a musical composed entirely of music from May's band, Queen. May is an original founder of the iconic rock band whose contributions as a guitarist and songwriter have helped the band sell over 100 million albums worldwide.
