The new Broadway musical Baby It’s You! tells the true story of how a New Jersey housewife birthed the original girl group, the Shirelles. Featuring hits sure to warm the hearts of every Baby Boomer—including “Shout,” “He’s So Fine” and “Dedicated to the One I Love”—the show stars Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Florence Greenberg, founder of Scepter Records and guru to musicians ranging from the Isley Brothers to Dionne Warwick. On March 7, Leavel and her castmates took to the stage at the Hard Rock Cafe for a preview of the show, then met the press and posed for photos in their period-perfect attire. Performances begin on March 26 at the Broadhurst Theatre; for now, take a look at our snapshots of the company.
