The cast of The Normal Heart couldn’t have been prouder to rally around producers Daryl Roth and Paul Boskind on May 3 when they presented a check for $10,000 to Freedom to Marry, the campaign to win marriage rights for same-sex couples nationwide. The donation is the result of a Facebook Rally launched to raise the profile of both the show and the organization; a fitting association, as the landmark 1985 play by Larry Kramer not only brings to life the early days of the AIDS crisis in New York City, it also addresses the issue of marriage equality, which still exists today. Cast members Richard Topol, Mark Harelik, Wayne Wilcox, Lee Pace, Jim Parsons, Joe Mantello and Luke Macfarlane joined their producers and Freedom to Marry President Evan Wolfson as he accepted the donation.
