Clifton Oliver has joined the cast of Broadway's The Lion King as Simba at the Minskoff Theatre. Dashaun Young played his final performance in the role on May 7.

Oliver previously played Simba in The Lion King's Las Vegas production. His Broadway credits include In the Heights and Wicked.

The Lion King also stars Gareth Saxe as Scar, Alton Fitzgerald White as Mufasa, Tshidi Manye as Rafiki, Chauntee Schuler as Nala, Cameron Pow as Zazu, Tom Alan Robbins as Pumbaa and Fred Berman as Timon. The long running hit, directed by Julie Taymor and featuring music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, opened on Broadway on November 13, 1997, and earned six Tony Awards including Best Musical.
