During the July 24 Comic-Con panel in support of Glee 3D: The Concert Movie, participating actors from the hit FOX series were asked to reveal their dream roles in a Broadway musical, according to The Los Angeles Times. The four supporting players on the panel included one breakout star who has already shown off his affinity for Disney musicals and one real-life Broadway musical vet.
Darren Criss (Blaine), who won YouTube fame warbling songs from Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, told the crowd that he would like to play the Emcee in Kander & Ebb’s Cabaret. Standout dancer Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) chose the iconic musical Singing in the Rain, presumably the role created onscreen by Gene Kelly. Dot Marie Jones (Coach Beiste) would like to play the villainous Ursula in The Little Mermaid. Spring Awakening alum Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) chose tragic heroine Kim in Miss Saigon.
Not bad for off-the-cuff answers at the press event—or maybe this Glee foursome actually have Broadway on the brain!
