No matter what language you speak, the excitement of a Broadway opening night always translates. On October 27, David Henry Hwang’s bilingual comedy Chinglish officially bowed on the Great White Way, and the Longacre Theatre was buzzing! Theater greats like Julie Taymor and Raul Esparza took in the innovative play, spoken half in English and half in Mandarin. After the curtain came down on this cross-cultural comedy, Hwang was joined by director Leigh Silverman and stars Gary Wilmes, Jennifer Lim and more as they headed to the swanky Brasserie 8 ½ to celebrate.
