Aaron Tveit, who was last seen on Broadway headlining the musical Catch Me If You Can, has just landed his first showy Hollywood film role. According to The Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye, the young star will play revolutionary student Enjolras in the upcoming big screen version of Les Miserables.

Tveit will join previously announced stars Hugh Jackman (as Jean Valjean), Russell Crowe (Javert), Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and Sacha Baron Cohen (Thenardier) in the musical film, directed by The King's Speech helmer Tom Hooper. Les Miserables is scheduled to start filming in March 2012 in London.

He also played the recurring role of Trip van der Bilt on TV's Gossip Girl and has appeared in the movies Ghost Town, Howl and the forthcoming Premium Rush.
