Athol Fugard’s drama The Road to Mecca, starring Tony winners Rosemary Harris and Jim Dale and stage and screen veteran Carla Gugino, begins previews on December 16. The play, which was originally mounted off-Broadway in 1988, is based on the true story of Helen Martins (Harris), who transformed her home into an opulent work of art after the death of her husband. At a meet and greet on December 7 at the American Airlines Theatre, the stars of Mecca were on hand to chat about the rehearsal process and their upcoming opening night on January 17.
