The infamous musical Carrie, based on the novel by Stephen King, received new life on January 31 as MCC Theatre's re-imagined production began previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The sold-out performance was the first glimpse New York audiences have seen of Carrie since its abbreviated Broadway run in 1988. The first preview drew one very special guest: Piper Laurie, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance as Carrie’s mother, Margaret White, in the 1976 film.
