Four-time Tony nominee Victor Garber will return to the small screen to star in NBC’s drama pilot Notorious, according to Deadline.com. Liz Heldens, (Prime Suspect, Mercy) serves as the pilot’s writer.
Notorious is described as an opulent soap about a female detective who grew up as the daughter of a maid to the wealthy Lawson family. She returns to the Lawson home undercover to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend. Garber will star as Robert Lawson, a spectacularly wealthy man with a mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut. Robert has four children, a second wife and a mistress and is CEO of Lawson Pharmaceuticals.
Garber’s notable Broadway turns include roles in Present Laughter, Arcadia, Art, Damn Yankees, Lend Me a Tenor, Noises Off, Little Me, Deathtrap and the original cast of Sweeney Todd. He has been seen on film in Milk, Sleepless in Seattle, The First Wives Club, Titanic, Legally Blond, and in leading roles on TV series such as Alias and Eli Stone.
