Carrie, a musical with a checkered past (it only ran for five performance when it debuted on Broadway in 1988), returned to New York after an absence of nearly 25 years. Directed by Stafford Arima, this reworked revival officially bowed on March 1 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, starring Marin Mazzie and Molly Ranson as Margaret and Carrie White, respectively. A starry crowd came to see MCC’s new production of the legendary flop musical. After the performance, the company and guests enjoyed a bloody good time at downtown hotspot the Griffin.
