About the Show
In the weeks leading up to the 2012 Tony telecast, Broadway.com is posting videos of favorite Tony memories of this year’s nominees, with their own commentary. Norm Lewis, nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for the revival of Porgy and Bess, singles out two special moments, one involving his Broadway debut and the other featuring a close friend.
"I have so many Tony memories. One that I was involved in, just seeing myself for the first time, was when I was in 'Tommy' [starring fellow 2012 Tony nominee Michael Cerveris]. There's a snippet of me while we were doing 'Listening to You.' The audience went crazy."
"One of my favorite Tony moments was Lillias White doing 'Brotherhood of Man' from 'How to Succeed' [in 1995]. I watched that on You Tube a lot because she's a good friend and she is awesome. Matthew Broderick is also a good friend."
