War Horse Star Puppet Takes to the Roof of London's National Theatre to Salute the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Joey the War Horse salutes Queen Elizabeth II
'War Horse' star Joey gives a galloping salute to Queen Elizabeth.

London is in full celebration mode at the moment as Queen Elizabeth II marks her Diamond Jubilee, the 60th anniversary of ascending the throne at age 25. On June 3, War Horse’s star puppet Joey offered a special salute during Her Majesty’s ceremonial cruise down the Thames River. A team of Handspring puppeteers ascended to the roof of the National Theatre, where the show had its world premiere in 2007, and galloped across the South Bank roof of the Olivier Theatre, rearing up to greet the Queen as the Royal Barge passed by. Enjoy this Hot Shot of Joey’s royal salute, and get tickets to see War Horse on either side of the Atlantic!
