Tony nominee Laura Osnes will record a live album during her previously announced cabaret debut at the Café Carlyle. The two-week engagement begins June 19. Three performances (June 28-30) will be recorded for the album, to be released by Broadway Records. During the recording dates, Osnes will be joined by special guests including her Bonnie & Clyde co-star Jeremy Jordan (June 28), Pipe Dream co-star Tom Wopat (June 29) and her Grease co-star Max Crumm (June 30). No release date for the album has been announced.
Osnes’ Café Carlyle selections will be culled from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, as well as from the worlds of jazz and folk. In addition to Jordan, Wopat and Crumm, other surprise special guests will appear during her Carlyle engagement. Osnes will be accompanied by a quartet led by her musical director Fred Lassen on piano. Joe Langworth directs.
The album will be produced by Fred Lassen and Aaron Ankrum and executive produced by Van Dean and Kenny Howard.
