Don’t touch that dial! Broadway vets like Constantine Maroulis, Jenna Leigh Green, Claybourne Elder, Bryce Ryness and many more took the stage of Joe’s Pub on June 25 for a concert version of Pump Up the Volume. The musical is based on the 1990 film that starred Christian Slater as Mark Hunter, a shy high school student who finds his voice as the anonymous host of a pirate radio show broadcast from his parents’ basement. On air he is “Happy Harry Hard-On,” and though the show gets a massive high school following, no one knows the deejay's true identity until fellow student Nora (played by Samantha Mathis) figures it out. Mathis was on hand to cheer on the stars (many of whom shared the roles of Mark and Nora) who brought the story to life at the downtown venue. Click on below to join her!
