From stealing bases to stealing rock ‘n’ roll, it was a great night for baseball fans and theater fans when retired New York Yankees David Wells and David Cone dropped by the Shubert Theatre on June 27 to take in the Tony-winning musical Memphis. The two ballplayers (who became legendary for pitching perfect games) rocked out to the soulful score and the home run performances by stars Adam Pascal and Montego Glover. After the show, the guys went backstage to meet the cast, as well composer David Bryan and librettist Joe DiPietro.
