Matthew Lewis, best known as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, is set to star in the previously announced West End production of Jonathan Lewis’ Our Boys. Directed by David Grindley, the production will also star Cian Barry (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Laurence Fox (TV’s Lewis) and Arthur Darvill (TV’s Doctor Who). Our Boys begins performances September 26 at London’s Duchess Theatre, with opening night set for October 3. The production will play a 15-week limited engagement.
Based on Jonathan Lewis’ experiences in the army, Our Boys is the story of five young soldiers whose daily routine of TV, lonely hearts ads and lighthearted banter is shattered when a young officer arrives from Sandhurst. The soldiers’ friendship is jeopardized by a dangerous incident and an act of betrayal. With charges of misconduct looming, accusations fly—and the fighting really begins.
Matthew Lewis’ stage credits include the national tour of Verdict by Agatha Christie. He appeared in all eight Harry Potter films. Additional film and TV credits include The Syndicate, Heartbeat, City Central, Where the Heart Is and Dalziel and Pascoe.
