Bring It On: The Musical begins a limited engagement at the St. James Theatre on July 12. Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler, Bring It On runs through October 7. Opening night is set for August 1.
Featuring a book by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music by Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyrics by Miranda and Amanda Green (High Fidelity), the musical is inspired by the hit 2000 film of the same name. Bring It On mixes the high-stakes world of competitive cheerleading with cutthroat high school politics and tells the story of the challenges and unexpected bonds formed through the thrill of extreme competition.
The musical stars Taylor Louderman as Campbell, Adrienne Warren as Danielle, Ryann Redmond as Bridget, Elle McLemore as Eva, Jason Gotay as Randall, Ariana DeBose as Nautica, Gregory Haney as La Cienega, Neil Haskell as Steven, Janet Krupin as Kylar, Kate Rockwell as Skylar and Nick Womack as Twig. The production also features Calli Alden, Nikki Bohne, Dexter Carr, Shonica Gooden, Haley Hannah, Rod Harrelson, Casey Jamerson, Dominique Johnson, Michael Mindlin, Adrianna Parson and Bettis Richardson.
The show features music supervision by Alex Lacamoire, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design by Jason Lyons, sound design by Brian Ronan, video design by Jeff Sugg and hair design by Charles G. LaPointe.
