Casting is complete for the world premiere of Francine Volpe’s drama The Good Mother. Darren Goldstein, Alfredo Narciso, Eric Nelsen and Bill Sage join previously announced star Gretchen Mol in the psychological thriller. Directed by Scott Elliott, the New Group production is set to begin previews October 29, with an official opening night on November 15 at off-Broadway's Theatre Row. The production is slated to play a limited engagement through December 22.

The Good Mother is the story of Larissa (Mol), a single mother who can barely meet the mortgage on her house in Mount Vernon, New York. When a bizarre incident involving her four-year-old daughter forces her to face someone from her past, Larissa’s own questionable actions come back to haunt her.

Goldstein appeared on Broadway in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. His off-Broadway credits include Mouth to Mouth, Mary Rose, Gutenberg! The Musical!, Abigail’s Party, Terrorism and Intimate Apparel. His film and TV credits include Limitless, Win Win and Damages. Narciso’s Broadway credits include The Motherf**ker With the Hat and A Streetcar Named Desire. His off-Broadway credits include Measure for Measure, Chair, The Drunken City, the Misanthrope and Good Thing. His film and TV credits include The Guys, Living and Dining and Lullaby For Ray.

Nelsen appeared in 13 on Broadway. His off-Broadway credits include Freckleface Strawberry. Nelsen’s film and TV credits include The Good Wife, Blue Bloods and Law & Order. Sage appeared off-Broadway in Aunt Dan and Lemon. His film and TV credits include American Psycho, Mysterious Skin, Precious, Boiler Room, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie.

The creative team for The Good Mother includes set designer Derek McLane, costume designer Cynthia Rowley, lighting designer Jason Lyons and sound designer Bart Fasbender.
