'House For Sale,' based on an essay by Jonathan Franzen, opens off-Broadway on October 13.

House For Sale, a play adapted from an essay by writer Jonathan Franzen (The Corrections, Freedom), will run off-Broadway at the Duke on 42nd Street. The Transport Group production will star Rob Campbell, Lisa Joyce, Christina Rouner, Merritt Janson and Michael Rudko. Adapted by Daniel Fish, the production will begin performances October 13, with an official opening night on October 21. House For Sale is scheduled to play a limited engagement through November 18.

Based on Franzen’s essay about selling his family’s Missouri home after his family's death, House For Sale is a five-actor play that involves each character acting out scenes in the essay. Franzen’s essay will be presented word-for-word in the piece.
