Get ready to spice up your life! Siobhan Athwal, Lucy Phelps, Dominique Provost-Chalkley will join previously announced stars Hannah John-Kamen and Sally Ann Triplett to bring the songs of the Spice Girls to the West End in the new musical Viva Forever! Directed by Paul Garrington and choreographed by Lynne Page, Viva Forever! features a book by Jennifer Suanders and orchestrations by Martin Koch. Viva Forever! begins previews November 27 at London’s Picadilly Theatre, with an official opening night on December 11.
Viva Forever! tells the story of a teen named Viva (John-Kamen), who forms an all-girl singing group with her friends and enters a TV talent show. There’s only one problem: Her mother Laura (Triplett) completely disapproves of the group. Viva Forever! will feature a score of 16 Spice Girl songs that will transport audience members right back to the early ‘90s, including “Wannabe,” “The Lady is a Vamp” and “Say You’ll Be There.”
Athwal, Phelps and Provost-Chalkley will play Viva’s best friends, Luce, Diamond and Holly, respectively. In addition to the trio of BFFs, Viva Forever! will feature Lucy Montgomery as Suzi, Simon Slater as Mitch, Ben Cura as Angel, Hatty Preston as Minty, Simon Adkins as Leon, Anthony Topham as Lance and Bill Ward, Sally Dexter and Tamara Wall as the three TV judges. The ensemble will include Tom Kanavan, Zak Nemorin, Curtis Angus, Luke Jackson, Oliver Roll, David Rudin, Darren Carnall, Myles Brown, Charlotte Gorton, Rebecca McKinnis, Lucy Thatcher, Roxanne Palmer, Charlotte Walcott, Sophie Carmen-Jones, Carla Nella, Kirstie Skivington and Helen Ternent.
Athwal starred as Luce in the workshop of Viva Forever! and appeared onstage in A Little Creation. Phelps’ London theater credits include Lay Down Your Cross and Earthquakes in London. Her film and TV creidts include Skins and New Tricks. Provost-Chalkley appeared in Dirty Dancing in London. Her film and TV credtis include The Midnight Beast, Britannia High and The Seasoning House.
