Amy Morton, Tracy Letts and the cast of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? blew the roof off the Booth Theatre on October 13 (figuratively, at least), when the revival of Edward Albee’s classic drama opened officially on Broadway. The Steppenwolf Theatre Company production, which opened exactly 50 years to the day after the play first premiered on Broadway, stars Morton as Martha and Letts as George, a tumultuous couple who invite Nick (Madison Dirks), a young professor, and his wife Honey (Carrie Coon) over for a night of drinking and debauchery. After bringing the drama to life onstage, the cast joined director Pam MacKinnon and Albee himself for a swanky soiree at Bond 45.
