Revival of Tennessee Williams' In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel Opens Off-Broadway

Media at Large Productions' revival of Tennessee Williams' In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel officially opens at off-Broadway's New World Stages on October 17.

The drama stars Shashi Balooja and Reiko Aylesworth as two Americans trapped in a very troubled marriage while staying in a Tokyo hotel. Mark (Balooja) is an alcoholic painter who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and believes he is working on his greatest masterpiece. His promiscuous wife Miriam (Aylesworth) races to have her husband, who is sinking deeper into his psychosis and is convinced that he has discovered color, commited. Joining Balooja and Aylesworth onstage are Brandon Lim, Alycia M. Perrin, Ryan H. Rankine and Ed Trucco.

In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel is directed and choreographed by Maria Torres, and featurs set and projection design by Xiao Wang, costume design by Vanessa Leuck, sound design by Kevin Feustel, lighting design by Zephan Ellenbogen and associate projection design by Spike McCue.
