Taylor Louderman Highlights the Cheerleader Essentials for a High-Flying Halloween, Bring It On Style

Next up, Broadway’s resident cheerleader Taylor Louderman explains how peppy cheer captain Campbell's killer fashion sense in Bring It On: The Musical is perfect for Halloween fun.

Why would Campbell make a good Halloween costume?
Well, Campbell is certainly someone I look up to. She represents pride, compassion, ambition and she wears a super-cute cheerleading uniform! I'm so lucky to get to step in her shoes every night…I encourage others to try it out.

Please list three essential elements to create Campbell’s cheerleading costume, and tell us why each of the three things is important.
Lightweight exercise shoes, cheer bow and a uniform! The shoes are important because you can't be a cheerleader without the proper foundation—and yes, those shoes matter to the boys lifting you! The uniform, of course, is what you wear to represent your squad; it's a team effort. Last but not least, a giant hair bow, to show your enthusiasm! It's the finishing touch.

What’s the key behavior or attitude needed to be believable as Campbell?
Drive, compassion and a smile!

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a child?
Being a cow. When I was little my mom made all of my costumes. She and her friend, who had a little boy my age, would have too much fun doing it. One year we were cows, with little bells, and I even had an udder. It was epic. They took us to the nearby cornfield to take pictures.

What’s your best or worst Halloween memory?
I think my best memory was taking my baby sisters trick-or-treating for the first time. I have twin sisters who are 12 years younger than me, so watching them grow up has been a big highlight.

What will your costume be this year?
You know, nearly every night of the week I get to dress up and play someone else, so I think Halloween night, I'm going to be Taylor. I get to go home and be with my family for Halloween this year, so I'm going to hang out at my grandma's and give out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
