New Casting Announced for London Run of Boy George's Taboo

New casting has been announced for the London revival of Taboo at the Brixton Club House. Beginning December 29, Paul Treacy will take on the role of iconic '80s pop star Boy George alongside Jordan-Luke Gage as Marilyn and Devon-Elise Johnson as Kim. Helmed by the show's original director and co-creator Christopher Renshaw, Taboo will run through March 31, 2013. 

Also joining the cast are Alex Jordan-Mills as Billy, Julia Worsley as Josie, Paul Kevin-Taylor as Derek/Petal, Sarah Goggin as Janey and Matthew Gent in the ensemble. Taboo follows aspiring photographer Billy as he hits the over-the-top London clubs of the '80s and encounters some of the scene’s greatest stars including Steve Strange, Leigh Bowery, Sallon and of course, Boy George. While Taboo includes some of Boy George’s biggest hits with his band Culture Club, George also penned an original score for the show, which features a book by Mark Davies Markham, and additional music by Kevan Frost.

Taboo premiered on January 29, 2002 at The Venue in London, where it ran for 15 months. A Broadway production opened on November 13, 2003, starring Raul Esparza, Jeffrey Carlson and Boy George (billed as George O’Dowd).
