Broadway Grosses: A Christmas Story Pulls in Holiday Theatergoers

Audiences were hungry for holiday entertainment in the week leading up to Christmas as A Christmas Story and Elf both took in over $1 million in sales. Long-running hits The Lion King and Wicked also attracted family crowds with both shows surpassing the $2 million mark. Audiences are also eager to see Scarlett Johansson back on Broadway as the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof revival got off to a great start, taking in $843,215 in its first week of previews.
