'Picnic' opens on Broadway on January 13.

It’s opening night for Roundabout Theatre Company’s new revival of Picnic, the Pulitzer Prize-winning dramedy by William Inge about the languorous, lunching women in a small town in Kansas. Maggie Grace, Ellen Burstyn, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Marvel, Reed Birney and Mare Winningham star in the production, which opens on January 13 at the American Airlines Theatre. The limited engagement is set to run through February 24.

First performed on Broadway in 1953, Picnic follows a group of women whose preparations for their annual Labor Day picnic is disrupted by a handsome young drifter named Hal Carter (Stan) who sends the women reeling—especially the beautiful Madge (Grace). The cast also includes Madeleine Martin, Ben Rappaport, Cassie Beck, Maddie Corman and Chris Perfetti.

Picnic’s creative team includes set designer Andrew Lieberman, costumes designer David Zinn, lighting designer Jane Cox, sound designer Jill B.C. Du Boff and choreographer Chase Brock.
